During the weekend my hubby and I dressed up for a double date, where we met with some dear friends of ours who were in town from Europe. We love catching up with them and hearing about their life abroad, which honestly tempts us to give it a try for at least a year. Ideally we would choose to live in either Barcelona or Florence. For me though, Florence takes the lead. The history, its people, the language, architecture and art, all captivate me in a way no other city does (even though we’ve visited it three times already). However I wouldn’t mind walking past the astonishing Sagrada Familia on my way to the grocery store or staring at the beautiful Pedrera while I grab a bite to eat.

One of the things that I love about traveling is having the chance to experience what it is like in other cities, especially because of the different cultures and surroundings I am not accustomed to.  I enjoy hearing people’s stories of their grandparent’s lives during WWII, how their ancestors were involved with Italy’s most known aristocratic family, the Medici, or how their parents participated in the many movements that took place during the 1960’s; no matter how simple or elaborate, I always find it fascinating.

So what do you say, should we take the plunge?  If you could live in any city outside of the U.S. which would it be?

I say do it! I still haven’t traveled much so I wouldn’t know which country I’ll pick…but your picks sound the greatest!
