When it comes to traveling, I can’t deny that I love walking around, getting on metros, buses, tuk-tuks and getting to know the city that I am visiting. But you need the right shoes to comfortably be able to do this. So, if you are a travel junkie like me, today I am sharing my top footwear for sightseeing. From sandals for hotter climates, to sneakers for a rocky terrain, even to weather-proof options for winter destinations.
Now, before I begin, there is one myth I must debunk asap, and it is that you CAN look trendy while still feeling comfy. So let’s get started…

Versatile sneakers
I have to be honest, I wasn’t a fan of sneakers until recently. And now I can’t get enough of how easily it is to style an outfit around them. White sneakers are the quintessential travel accessory you can’t afford to forget to pack.

Cuando se trata de viajar, no puedo negar que cuando lo hago me encanta caminar, subir en metros, autobuses, y hasta tuk-tuks para conocer la ciudad donde estoy. When you are sightseeing, the last thing you should worry about is getting your feet wet, thus if you are heading to a destination where it is known to rain ALL. THE. TIME. these duck boots are perfect for you! Not only are they waterproof but you don’t have to worry about freezing your toes off while you are visiting Stonehenge. They are lined with super comfy and warm microfleece. Another amazing thing about them is that they are available in several shades and styles. I recently purchased them in beige and can’t wait to take them out for a spin.

For the days where I knew I wasn’t going to be walking much, I opted for these two options because nobody got time to be looking ordinary.

For hotter climates like Greece, these T-strap sandals are comfy and very versatile. What color should you pack though? If you ask me, my go-to shade is metallic, I just love how they can easily transform an ordinary look into something chic and fun. But tan, white or cognac are also easy to match with most outfits.

Versatility is definitely another of its many qualities, because you can dress them up or down depending on your itinerary. I happen to love mine with embellishments because they add an extra touch to the look.

Alpargatas chic
Para un look relajado pero a la vez chic, las alpargatas planas son mis favoritas. Son casuales y divertidas, pero a la vez modernas y cómodas. La versatilidad es definitivamente otra de sus muchas cualidades, ya que puedes vestirlas casualmente o mas elegante dependiendo de tu itinerario. Resulta que adoro las míos con adornos porque les agregan un toque extra a todos mis looks.

Closed flats
These types of footwear are one of my faves, especially for airport travel. They are easy to put on and take off, and if you choose the right pair, you can wear them indefinitely while sightseeing. My go-to’s are the ones made of leather with rubber soles. This is ideal because they are soft on your feet and can be worn to almost all terrains. For my one-month-long trip (to Morocco, Japan, Cambodia and Thailand) I packed a similar pair to these, and they were definitely the most versatile from the bunch.

Zapatillas cerradas
Este tipo de calzado es uno de mis favoritos, especialmente durante viajes (en el aeropuerto u otro modo de transportación). Son fáciles de poner y quitar, y si eligen el correcto, pueden usarlos indefinidamente mientras hacen turismo. Los que recomiendo son los de cuero con suelas de goma. Esto es ideal porque son suaves para tus pies y se pueden usar en casi todos los terrenos. Para mi viaje de un mes (a Marruecos, Japón, Camboya y Tailandia) empaqué un par similar a estos, y definitivamente fueron los más versátiles que llevé.
