I recently conducted a poll through my Instagram Stories and asked what you wanted to see first; what I packed in my hospital bag or a travel look from Russia. If you peeked at Tuesday’s blog post, you must have noticed that the hospital bag won the poll, thus naturally I would be posting Russia’s travel look today. But surprise! I will leave that fall-worthy #OOTD for another day because, one, I really wanted to share this look before the pieces get sold out and, two, because I’ve been receiving questions about styling headwraps/headbands.
First off, can you believe the dress and kimono are from Target!? Yep, and non-maternity by the way. I’ve shared many times that Target has been my go-to while expecting, because I can always find something I can wear during and after my pregnancy. Now let’s get to the nitty gritty of how to style a headwrap/headband.

Recientemente realicé una encuesta a través de mis Stories en Instagram y les pregunté qué quería ver primero; lo que empaqué para el parto en mi bolsa de hospital o un look que vestí durante mi viaje en Rusia. Si echan un vistazo a la publicación del martes, deben haber notado que la bolsa del hospital ganó la encuesta. Por lo que significa que debería publicar el look Rusia hoy. ¡Pero sorpresa! Dejaré ese outfit cual es digno de otoño por otro día porque, en primer lugar, quería compartir este look antes de que las piezas se agoten y, dos, porque he estado recibiendo preguntas sobre como usar pañuelos en la cabeza.
Primero, ¿pueden creer que el vestido y el kimono son de Target? Sí, y no de maternidad por cierto. He compartido muchas veces que he acudido a Target durante todo mi embarazo, porque siempre puedo encontrar algo que pueda usar durante y después de la pancita. Ahora veamos al grano de cómo vestir un pañuelo (o diadema como también se conoce).

I personally believe that confidence really makes a woman stand out from the crowd! And so does her outfit. Styling a headwrap takes a bit of challenge because you have to do it with a touch of class and a lot of sass. You have to be confident with what you wear but you also don’t want to overdo it, you get my drift?
For this look, I opted for a white canvas, the linen dress, and a predominantly one-color layer, the black kimono. Because this last piece has a few pops of colors that happen to match the headwrap, I gave it a try, and it worked out. PERFECTLY! Most of the time, vibrant accessories are my go-to when I want to make an outfit pop. If, however, you prefer a less flashy look, you can opt for something like this, which is an outfit I wore while traveling. Again though, with basic pieces for my top and bottom and a less flamboyant headband to pull the look together.
But don’t be afraid to add colorful pieces to your accessory collection ladies, and don’t be afraid to wear them neither.

¡Personalmente creo que la confianza realmente hace que una mujer se destaque entre la multitud! Pero también lo hace su outfit. Vestir un pañuelo en la cabeza tiene sus retos porque pienso que se debe hacer con un toque de clase, pero también debes ser un poco atrevida. Tienes que sentirte segura con lo que vistes, pero tampoco quieres exagerar, ¿me entienden?
Para este look, opté por una pieza básica y simple, el vestido de lino blanco, y el kimono que es predominantemente de un solo color. Debido a que esta última pieza tiene algunos toques de colores que coinciden con el pañuelo, decidí intentarlo y funcionó ¡PERFECTAMENTE! La mayoría de las veces, los accesorios de colores llamativos son mi prioridad cuando quiero hacer que un look resalte. Sin embargo, si prefieren un aspecto menos llamativo, pueden optar por algo como esto, que es un outfit que vestí durante uno de mis viajes. Donde nuevamente repetí las reglas de escoger piezas básicas y simples, pero con una diadema menos llamativa para terminar el look.
Pero no teman añadir piezas de colores a su colección de accesorios chicas, y no teman tampoco de usarlas.
