Ever since I shared my makeup routine (here) I have been asked numerous times about the makeup brushes I use, so today I am finally sharing it with you all! Most of these are from Sigma Beauty, my go-to brand for brushes (use code SIGMA2016 for 10% off your purchase!). Why Sigma? Because you won’t break the bank when purchasing them and their quality is just as good as its higher-end counterpart. You may also ask “why spend more than X amount on just brushes”, well ladies, the brushes you use are just as important as the makeup you choose to wear. We all take care in selecting the perfect formula for foundation, eye shadow, concealer, etc. so why not use the same principle for the tools themselves? They really make the difference, I assure you!
Before starting, I have decided to split this post into two; one is for face brushes and the second (coming up later next week) is focused on those for your eye makeup. I have chosen the tools that I reach for the most, even though I own many more, but these are my absolute favorites.
1. Foundation (Brush): Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki™ My go-to for everyday use. It’s dense but soft, and leaves a beautiful finish.
TIP: I place a few drops of the foundation on the back of my hand and apply small dots throughout my face with the brush. Then I blend in circular motions and add more product only if necessary.
2. Foundation (Sponge): Original BeautyBlender® I opt for this sponge for special occasions like a date-night, night out or for fancier events like a wedding or graduation. This brand also came out with the BeautyBlender® micro mini; I didn’t think I would need it until I tried it! It is the absolute best for small areas, like your under-eyes or any blemishes, spots you want to cover
TIP: Always use a damped sponge and follow the steps in the above tip. Don’t forget to wash it after each use (I use this soap to clean it)!
3. Cheekbone Contour (Cream-based): Sigma F84 Angled Kabuki™ I have tried many brushes for contouring and have found this is the best one for me. Now keep in mind, I use a cream contour product with this brush (my absolute fav contour palette). This brush is the perfect size and has the ideal angle for achieving that flawless bone structure we all weren’t born with.
4. Cheekbone Contour (Powder-based): Tarte Swirl Power Contour & Bronzer Brush Yes another contour brush! but this one is for a powdered product (I use this one or you can also read more about the products I use here). Its flat shape is extremely versatile as well! You can use it for blush or even bronzer; give it a try and see how it best fits your makeup routine.
5. Nose Contour: Sigma E60 Large Shader This brush is intended for eyeshadow, however I have found that it is the best to contour my nose. It is large and flat enough (with beveled edges) to achieve a subtle, blended and even application. Again, I use a cream-based contour product (here).
6. Blush: Sigma F55 Small Duo Fibre I’ve tried several brushes in hopes of finding the ideal one, and this one definitely fit the bill. You will surely achieve a natural and delicate finish.
7. Setting: Sigma F35 Tapered Highlighter I use this soft and tapered brush to set my makeup, precisely under the eyes where I use concealer and where I highlight (bridge of nose, middle of forehead and chin). The bristles are the best for

MIS BROCHAS DE MAQUILLAJE MÁS ESENCIALES: PARTE 1 {BROCHAS PARA CUTIS}

Desde que compartí mi rutina de maquillaje (aquí) me han preguntado en numerosas ocasiones acerca de las brochas que uso, por lo que hoy, por fin, estoy compartiéndolas con ustedes. La mayoría de estas brochas son de Sigma Beauty, mi marca preferida para este tipo de herramientas (puede utilizar código SIGMA2016 para obtener un 10% de descuento en su compra) ¿Por qué Sigma Beauty? Porque su bolsillo no sufrirá al adquirir estos productos y su calidad es tan buena como sus competidores de alta gama. También preguntaran “¿por qué gastar más de X cantidad en apenas pinceles”, pues chicas, las brochas que utiliza son tan importantes como el maquillaje que elige usar. Todas tomamos el cuidado en seleccionar la fórmula perfecta para la base, sombra de ojos, corrector, etc. ¿por qué no usar el mismo principio para las herramientas? ¡Harán la diferencia, se lo aseguro!
Antes de empezar, he decidido dividir este post en dos; uno es para pinceles que utilizo en mi rostro y el segundo (que publicare la semana siguiente) se enfoca en las herramientas para usar con los productos de los párpados. Todos los que he elegido son los que uso a menudo, aunque poseo muchos más, pero estos son mis favoritos.
1. Base (Brocha): Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki™ Es la brocha elegida para el uso diario. Es densa pero suave, y deja un bello terminado.
CONSEJO: Pongo unas gotas de la base en el dorso de mi mano y aplico pequeños puntos a lo largo de la cara con la brocha. Entonces mezclo el producto en mi rostro con movimientos circulares y añado más producto si es necesario.
2. Base (Esponja): Original BeautyBlender® Opto por esta esponja para ocasiones especiales, como una cena especial o evento más elegantes, como una boda o graduación. Esta marca también creo el BeautyBlender® micro mini; no pensé que lo necesitaría ¡hasta que lo probé! Es la más favorable para áreas pequeñas, como en las ojeras, imperfecciones y manchas que desea cubrir.
CONSEJO: Siempre use esta esponja humedecida y siga los mismos pasos que explique en el consejo anterior. No olvide de limpiar la esponja después de cada uso (utilizo este jabón para limpiarla).
3. Contorno en los Pómulos (a base de crema): Sigma F84 Angled Kabuki™ he probado muchos pinceles para ‘escultar’ (conocido como contouring en inglés) y he encontrado que este es el mejor para mí. Ahora, tengan en cuenta, utilizo un producto de base cremosa (este es mi kit favorito para escultar). Esta brocha posee el tamaño perfecto y el ángulo ideal para lograr ese contorno impecable, cual todos deseamos tener.
4. Contorno en los Pómulos (a base de polvo): Tarte Swirl Power Contour & Bronzer Brush ¡Sí! otro pincel de contorno, pero éste es para productos en polvo (yo uso de éste, o también puede leer más acerca de los productos que uso diariamente aquí). Su forma plana es extremadamente versátil; se puede utilizar para colorete/rubor o bronceador.
5. Contorno de la Nariz: Sigma E60 Large Shader Este pincel está diseñado para sombra de ojos, sin embargo he encontrado que es el mejor para el contorno de la nariz. Es lo suficientemente grande y plano (con bordes biselados) para lograr una sutil, difuminada y uniforme aplicación. Una vez más, utilizo un producto a base de crema para el contorno (aquí).
6. Colorete/Rubor: Sigma F55 Small Duo Fibre he intentado varias brochas con la esperanza de encontrar la ideal, y esta sin duda la es para mí. Sin duda lograra un terminado natural y delicado.
7. Fijador: Sigma F35 Tapered Highlighter Uso este pincel al final para fijar el maquillaje. Precisamente debajo de los ojos, donde utilizo corrector y en las áreas donde resalto (puente de la nariz, en el medio de la frente y ojeras).
